Sculptra

Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable dermal filler designed to stimulate the skin’s natural collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works gradually to restore facial volume lost due to aging or medical conditions, improving skin texture, elasticity, and firmness over time.

Sculptra is commonly used to treat areas of the face such as the cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds, and jawline. It is particularly effective for addressing deep wrinkles, folds, and hollowed areas. The treatment can also be used off-label for body contouring in areas like the buttocks and thighs to improve skin laxity or add subtle volume.

The procedure typically involves a series of injections spaced several weeks apart, with noticeable results appearing gradually over a few months as collagen production increases. The effects of Sculptra can last up to two years or more, making it a long-lasting solution for facial rejuvenation.

Post-treatment, patients may experience mild swelling, redness, or tenderness, which usually subsides within a few days. Proper aftercare, including massaging the treated areas as instructed, enhances the treatment’s effectiveness.
