Silhouette Threads
What are Silhouette threads?
Silhouette threads are a type of support thread made from polylactic acid. This material is naturally absorbed by the body, which makes it completely safe and has minimal side effects.
The biggest advantage of Silhouette threads is that you don’t need to undergo a facelift surgery. However, in addition to stimulating collagen, Silhouette threads can provide results very similar to a facelift!
The main areas treated with support threads are:
• Contour of the face;
• “Chinese mustache”;
• Neck and double chin;
• Eyebrow arch;
• Contour of the mouth;
• Neck and double chin.
Which patients are suitable for Silhouette threads?
Silhouette threads are mainly indicated for patients with a high degree of sagging, or for repositioning areas.
Aging is a natural process of the body, and with it, the skin can sag. The support thread helps you put the area “back in place”.
Since it is a non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure, it is therefore a great option for dealing with these first signs in a simple way, without the need for surgical intervention.
Are there any contraindications for this procedure?
In general, threads are safe procedures for any patient, however, there are precautions that must be taken.
Silhouette threads are not recommended for patients who are sensitive or allergic to the product, have skin diseases, autoimmune diseases, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Therefore, it is important to talk to your dermatologist.
What are the expected results after the procedure?
Immediately after the application of the Silhouette thread, you can notice the lifting effect caused by the procedure.
However, since it also stimulates your skin’s natural collagen, the results are progressive and take longer to obtain the final result.
Remember, as the aging process continues, it is recommended to talk to your dermatologist to assess the need for thread replacement after two years from the first application.
How is Silhouette thread application?
The procedure can be performed in a doctor’s office, where we apply local topical and injectable anesthesia for greater patient comfort.
The polylactic acid threads are inserted into the subcutaneous fat, which is located just below the skin, through small holes made with a needle, depending on the region chosen by the patient.
The dermatologist can then pull and manipulate the thread to obtain the desired result, whether it is to restore the contour of the face or neck, or to reduce wrinkles and marks of sagging skin.
